SymSMB, mounting and exporting Windows shares on the N95

Comments

[this is good]
Interesting post about SymBMS.
Especially the speed test I like to read.
I tried myself this program but didn't got it running on my homenetwork. Don't know why. Maybe I should give it a second try.
Didn't know that there are free ftp-pograms existing for Symbian. I will look for this, and check one of the programs. Because I'm running a FTP-Server at home, this would be a great idear to test with my N95.
Thanks for the interesting post.

Note that with ftp you password goes in cleartext over the internet. sftp (secureftp) is to be preferred. The latest 2.0 version of SymSMB works quite nice.

Excelent sotware review. I am interested particularly info on Wi-Fi speeds.

Thx

Somebody proved Orb 2,0, I am using it and it seems to me fantastic. In addition it allows streaming on Internet from gprs/edge/3G/3.5G or some hotspot WiFi.

I am moved before the fact of being able to see or to listen to any video (in any format), music mp3, documents, Cable TV, Internet TV or browse the archives of my hard disks that are lodged in my computer, from any place of the planet!

If they did not prove it… I recommend it.

Download it of web site of Nokia.

Great test

Thanks for the interesting post

I prefer Orb 2.0. Is better and free !!!

You test it ?

I did not test orb. But can it playback video's on the N95 at 640x480 via tv-out at home? Or is it just low 3GP quality?

Full Quality - Select Real Media Format (.rm) streaming in your PC software server Orb 2.0.
